Michelle Renee Hiatt

 Michelle Renee will present and describe her quilts created over the years, some of them award winning and/or appearing in Quilt Magazines. She will demonstrate her progression and development as a quilter and designer over the last 20 years.

Michelle reflects on how she fell in love with quilting and how it has been there through life’s peaks and valleys, providing her peace and therapy when she has needed it most. 

Additionally, Michelle describes how she got into designing quilts and how you can go about changing fabric and color placement to make quilts your own. Michelle shows numerous alternate versions of quilts. She explains how she went about changing color placement and values, to change the feel of a quilt, and how you can do it too!

With some basic preparation and rotary cutting in advance as outlined in the supply list, students will learn one technique and be able to construct at least one or two blocks in class and leave with the confidence and expertise necessary to complete the quilt at home.

With some preparation as outlined in the supply list before class, students will learn the technique and have ample time to construct blocks and piece a major portion or possibly the entire quilt top during the workshop.
